Canadian In-House Counsel Salaries Rise by 9% Amid Persistent Gender Pay Gap

Base salaries for in-house counsel in Canada have seen a significant increase of nearly 9% over the past year, as detailed in a new report by The Counsel Network and the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA). The average national base salary has risen to CA$196,000, up from CA$180,000 in 2022. Despite this upward trend, the report also highlights that there continues to be a wide gap—albeit slightly narrower—between the base salaries of male and female corporate lawyers.
