Stanford Legal Podcast Relaunches with Fresh Insights

Stanford Legal, a biweekly podcast that covers pivotal legal cases, questions, and conflicts at both national and global levels, has relaunched in November following a yearlong hiatus. The podcast is co-hosted by Stanford Law School (SLS) professors Pamela Karlan and Richard Thompson Ford, and airs every other Thursday. It is accessible on platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube.

Stanford Legal had previously aired as a radio show on Sirius XM from 2017 to 2022. According to Karlan, the podcast’s goal is to demystify complex legal and policy issues for the general public while offering insightful discussions. Ford added that the content aims to highlight how legal questions intersect with everyday life.

Our goal is to make often-complex legal and policy issues accessible and relevant to the general public, while also providing insight and sophisticated discussions of the issues,” stated Karlan. Ford noted, “Stanford Legal’s content is informed by our belief that some of the most interesting legal discussions can be found in everyday life, where we don’t always think about the influence of the law on how we behave and what we think.”
