The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has approved a $15 million class action settlement addressing race discrimination within the US Marshals Service. “This agreement is the culmination of more than three decades of hard-fought litigation combating race discrimination,” said David Sanford, class counsel, in a statement. “The settlement will provide meaningful relief for African Americans in the Marshals Service and those denied an opportunity to become Marshals.”
