Former Chilean Football Official Sergio Jadue Sues Amazon Studios Over Defamation in Streaming Series

Sergio Jadue, the former president of the National Association of Professional Football of Chile, has initiated a defamation lawsuit against Amazon Studios and additional defendants. The legal action, filed in a federal district court in Miami, centers on the portrayal of Jadue in a streaming drama series, where he is depicted committing various fabricated crimes linked to the 2015 FIFA scandal.

Representing Jadue, Giacomo Bossa, a partner at Barakat + Bossa, explained that the lawsuit underscores growing concerns over narrative integrity within the highly competitive landscape of online streaming. “What makes this lawsuit unique is they’re using him as the narrator of the story, and we alleged that they never had an agreement with him to be the narrator,” Bossa stated.
