Barclay Damon Targets Aggressive Expansion Across Major East Coast Markets

Article

Barclay Damon, a firm with a strong presence in upstate New York, is focusing its growth efforts on four key markets: New York City, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., and Boston. As quoted by firm chair John Langan, “That’s where the money is. They’re super great markets, and they’re unlimited in terms of client and talent.”

The firm currently employs around 74 lawyers across these four locations, but leadership anticipates expanding to about 30 to 50 lawyers in each area. Specifically, there are currently 10 lawyers in D.C., 18 in New Haven, 30 in New York City, and 14 in Boston. This growth is expected to come through strategic hires and expansion of practice areas in each market.
