Michael Neumeister has joined Cooley LLP as a partner in its business restructuring practice and global litigation department in Los Angeles, according to a statement from the firm on Tuesday. Neumeister brings substantial experience in managing financial distress cases, including both out-of-court restructurings and Chapter 11 proceedings across California and Cooley’s global platform.
In his new role, Neumeister will represent a broad spectrum of clients such as secured lenders, debtor-in-possession (DIP) lenders, and buyers in various bankruptcy sales, as well as manage bankruptcy litigation for clients spanning multiple industries. He departs from Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher to take up this new position.
