Tesla Sues Chinese Firm Over Alleged Misuse of Supercharger Network

Tesla has initiated legal action against Yancheng Jeco Auto Parts Co. Ltd., operating under the name JecoEV, in the California Northern District Court. The lawsuit, represented by attorneys A. Louis Dorny, Alex Hanna, and Aengus Carr, alleges false advertising and federal trademark dilution under the Lanham Act, along with violations of the California Business and Professions Code. JecoEV is accused of marketing a “dangerous” charging adapter that allows non-Tesla electric vehicles to utilize Tesla’s Supercharger network, which Tesla claims to be the “largest and most reliable DC fast charging network for electric vehicles in North America.” Detailed information on the proceedings and the filing can be accessed here.
