U.S. Judge Sentences Former Cryptocurrency Exchange Founder Anatoly Legkodymov to Time Served

A U.S. judge has sentenced Anatoly Legkodymov, the former founder of a cryptocurrency exchange, to time served. Legkodymov was described as both “an entrepreneur and a visionary” during his sentencing. The judge cited the American Bar Association’s “shadow guidelines”—an alternative to the United States Sentencing Commission’s traditional guidelines—as the basis for his decision. According to these guidelines, Legkodymov’s period of pre-trial detention was considered adequate punishment. More details on this case can be found here.
