The European Law Blog has announced its inaugural European Law Blogger Prize, set to coincide with the launch of its new website at the beginning of September 2024. This initiative invites early-career legal scholars to submit their blog posts on current developments in EU law for a chance to win a €300 award. Submissions will be accepted from 1 September to 1 December 2024 and will be published on a rolling basis.
The prize is open to LLM and doctoral students, as well as postdoctoral researchers who have defended their doctoral thesis within the last two years. Aspiring contributors must detail how they meet these criteria when submitting their posts. The Editorial Board encourages engaging, well-researched entries and will select the winning post based on these standards. The winning entry will be determined by a committee composed of the European Law Blog’s associate editors. More details on the submission guidelines and required templates can be found here.”
The award is generously funded by the University of Amsterdam’s Fonds Europa Instituut. Queries regarding the prize can be directed to info[at]europeanlawblog.eu. It is worth noting that the blog will be on its annual summer break from 20 July to 1 September 2024.
The announcement provides a unique opportunity for early-career legal professionals to gain recognition and share their insights on a prominent platform. Full details of the Call for Submissions can be found on the European Law Blog’s official announcement here.
The Editorial Board looks forward to reviewing the engaging and insightful contributions from the emerging voices in EU law.
