The Delaware judge who previously struck down Elon Musk’s $56 billion pay package at Tesla Inc. has decided to allow both the US Chamber of Commerce and a legal scholar to contribute to the case. This follows a three-page letter opinion issued on Monday, according to a report from Bloomberg Law.
The US Chamber of Commerce and retired University of Delaware professor Charles Elson had sought to file friend-of-the-court briefs. These briefs pertain to a Tesla shareholder vote that re-approved what is reportedly the largest ever CEO compensation deal, as well as a bid for approximately $7 billion in legal fees for the attorneys who won the case. Chancellor Kathaleen St. Jude McCormick will consider arguments regarding Tesla’s motion to reinstate Musk’s compensation deal.
