Tensions have risen among plaintiffs’ attorneys in the wake of last month’s $178 million settlement with Pacific Power, following allegations of “collusion” and “mudslinging.” The settlement, stemming from the 2020 wildfires in Oregon, has prompted a schism between Chicago’s Edelson, which co-leads the litigation and secured approximately $200 million in verdicts against PacifiCorp, and a coalition of firms advocating on behalf of class members still awaiting compensation.
