Big Law Firms in New York Buck National Trend of Downsizing Office Space

The trend of reducing office space among firms in certain areas of the U.S. does not seem to be impacting big law firms in New York. Data from commercial real estate firm Cresa shows that since the beginning of 2023, seven out of 10 Am Law 200 firm relocations in New York involved either similar or larger spaces. Only 30% of these relocations resulted in less space utilization. Firms such as King & Spalding, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, and Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati are among those that have either maintained or expanded their office footprints.
