Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP announced the addition of Elizabeth Gonzalez-Sussman as a partner in their mergers and acquisitions group, according to an announcement on Thursday. Gonzalez-Sussman will take on the role of head of shareholder engagement and activism.
In her new position, Gonzalez-Sussman will be guiding clients to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and defend against activist campaigns. Her practice will cover a full range of shareholder engagement and activism tasks, including handling shareholder proposals, proxy contests, withhold campaigns, consent solicitations, stock accumulations, and unsolicited acquisition proposals.
The firm highlighted her extensive experience in advising hedge funds and large investors on the strategy and execution of various shareholder activism-related activities.
