Fried Frank Expands Restructuring Team with Key Hires from Willkie Farr & Gallagher

Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson has announced a significant addition to its restructuring team by recruiting Rachel Strickland, former restructuring department chair at Willkie Farr & Gallagher, along with two other partners and a seasoned industry executive. Strickland, who will now serve as the global chair of Fried Frank’s restructuring practice, brings extensive experience in handling complex Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings. Notable clients in her portfolio include Clovis Oncology, Inc., Momentive Performance Materials, and Adelphia Communications, among others.

Joining Strickland at Fried Frank are her Willkie colleagues, Daniel Forman and Andrew Mordkoff, both based in New York. Additionally, Benjamin Schrag, former chief growth officer at financial advisory firm Kroll, will step in as the chief operating officer for Fried Frank’s restructuring department. Schrag’s previous experience includes co-founding bankruptcy claims administrator Prime Clerk, which Kroll acquired in 2019.

According to Kenneth I. Rosh, chairman of Fried Frank, these new hires reinforce the firm’s capacity to manage its clients’ most complex restructuring needs. This strategic move reflects Fried Frank’s ongoing effort to bolster its core practice areas. The firm has recently recruited partners in its investment funds and private equity groups, including notable additions in both New York and London.
