Former FTX Executive Challenges Conviction, Alleges Prosecutors Breached Deal in Girlfriend’s Investigation

Former FTX executive Ryan Salame has requested that a US judge vacate his conviction or halt any indictment of his girlfriend, asserting that prosecutors breached a deal to cease investigating her if he entered into a plea agreement. The allegations emerged in a federal court filing in New York, only a few months after Salame was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison for his involvement in illegal activities at FTX before its collapse. Salame, former head of FTX’s Bahamas subsidiary, claims that during plea negotiations, prosecutors leveraged investigations related to his partner, Michelle Bond, as a bargaining chip (court filing).
