Chris Morvillo, a partner at the New York law firm Clifford Chance, tragically passed away this week at the age of 59. Morvillo, who gained recognition for successfully defending British tech tycoon Mike Lynch in a criminal trial that concluded in June, was among the victims of a luxury yacht sinking.
The law firm confirmed the loss of both Chris Morvillo and his wife, Neda, in an official statement: “We are heartbroken at the tragic passing of our partner, Christopher Morvillo, and his wife, Neda. We are deeply saddened and still coming to terms with this terrible loss.”
Morvillo’s legal career included a notable tenure as a federal prosecutor before joining Clifford Chance. His role in the acquittal of Mike Lynch, who faced charges of defrauding Hewlett-Packard (HP), stands as a testament to his legal acumen and dedication.
