Tom Girardi May Testify in His Own Defense in High-Profile Embezzlement Trial, Attorney Suggests

In a significant development in the legal proceedings against Tom Girardi, one of his attorneys indicated that Girardi may testify at his own criminal trial. The case, unfolding in downtown Los Angeles, involves allegations that Girardi, aged 85, embezzled $15 million from four clients of his Los Angeles-based law firm, Girardi Keese.

Federal public defender Charles Snyder informed U.S. District Judge Josephine Staton, of the Central District of California, that the defense planned to call three additional witnesses, including Girardi himself. This revelation came after the jury had been dismissed for the day on Wednesday. Testimony during the trial has largely centered on the defense’s argument that the former chief financial officer of Girardi Keese, Christopher Kamon, was the real perpetrator behind the financial misdeeds, allegedly siphoning off millions to support a lavish lifestyle.
