Faegre Drinker Appoints New COO, Emphasizes AI and Performance Growth

After a notable 17-year tenure at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, Chief Operating Officer Nolan Kurtz has transitioned to Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath. Kurtz replaces Jane Koehl, who was the COO for Drinker Biddle & Reath prior to its 2020 merger with Faegre Baker Daniels and recently moved to Venable in February. Kurtz’s appointment, which was effective as of August 26, aligns with Faegre Drinker’s broader strategy to enhance both overall performance and growth, while also leveraging internal data and generative artificial intelligence capabilities. Firm chair Gina Kastel emphasized the importance of these efforts.

“My ears are in listening mode right now,” stated Kurtz, “The best thing is to come in and actively listen to the partners, our lawyers, our consultants, our operations professionals and really learn from them.”
