A retired Ohio judge accused of misappropriating more than $65,000 from an association for which he served as treasurer has resigned his law license with disciplinary action pending, the state Supreme Court announced.
Michael T. Brandt, who served on the Franklin County Municipal Court, applied last month to give up his license; the court accepted it Monday. Brandt took the money from 2014 to 2022 while he was treasurer of Association of Municipal/County Judges of Ohio Inc., according to a complaint filed Aug. 7 by the state’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel.
- He served as treasurer for the association from 2006 until his misconduct was discovered.
