Ellen Blain has joined Clarick Gueron Reisbaum as a partner, the firm announced Tuesday. Blain previously served as the acting deputy chief of the civil division and chief of the civil rights unit at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. In her role with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she oversaw numerous affirmative and defensive investigations and litigations, notably including the first U.S. government case brought against a social media platform for algorithmic discrimination.
During her tenure as civil rights chief, Blain led significant investigations against both public and private entities on matters of gender, national origin, religious, and disability discrimination, thereby cementing her reputation as a robust enforcer of civil rights laws. Her experience brings a substantial fortification to Clarick Gueron Reisbaum’s commitment to handling complex civil rights and discrimination cases.
