Former Deputy Chief of SDNY Civil Division Joins Clarick Gueron Reisbaum Litigation Boutique

Ellen Blain, who served 15 years at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York, has transitioned to the New York-based commercial litigation boutique Clarick Gueron Reisbaum. During her tenure at SDNY, Blain held multiple formidable roles, most recently acting as the deputy chief of the Civil Division and the chief of the Civil Rights Unit. Overseeing 500 matters and 50 lawyers, she was instrumental in securing a noteworthy settlement with Meta. The agreement resolved claims that Facebook’s housing advertising system discriminated against users based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, and national origin. Blain emphasized her attraction to the 17-lawyer firm’s range of sophisticated cases and its collegial atmosphere.
