In a move that could significantly shift the legal industry landscape, Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP has announced a merger with Denver-based Sherman & Howard LLC. This merger aims to expand Taft’s geographical footprint and service offerings. According to Taft Chairman and Managing Partner Bob Hicks, the merger aligns with Taft’s strategic growth plans and positions both firms to better serve their clients in a range of industries.
Hicks further revealed that Taft is in preliminary talks with two or three additional firms for potential combinations, indicating that this merger might be the first of several strategic moves. “I normally talk to 20 or 30 firms before I find one that’s viable,” Hicks commented, highlighting the meticulous selection process behind these potential mergers.
