Brooks Sports Pursues Legal Action Against PUMA Over Running Shoe Patent Dispute

Brooks Sports has taken legal action, asking a federal court to address a patent dispute with PUMA. The litigation centers on alleged patent infringements related to running shoe technologies. Barbara Barrilleaux, vice president of general counsel at Brooks Running, stated that Brooks, which has held a dominant position in the U.S. adult performance running footwear market for ten consecutive quarters, intends to vigorously defend its innovative products against what it considers unfounded accusations by PUMA, a newer entrant in the performance running market.
