In a surprising twist, global law firm Dentons is facing allegations of unethical behavior, centered on claims that it assisted a vape distributor in sabotaging a manufacturer. According to a lawsuit filed on Tuesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California, vape distributor Next Level Holdings allegedly worked with Dentons employees in Salt Lake City and Shanghai to take over the operations of vape manufacturer Avid Holdings.
The complaint alleges that Dentons did more than just provide standard legal assistance; the firm is accused of coordinating efforts to drain Avid’s resources and gain control over its assets. An aspect of the allegations involves hacking into an executive’s laptop to further their agenda. These serious accusations put Dentons in a difficult position, with significant ethical and legal implications for the firm. Representatives from Dentons have not yet responded to these claims.
