DiliTrust, a French company headquartered in Paris that provides an all-in-one corporate governance suite for in-house legal teams, has acquired the U.S.-based enterprise legal management company doeLEGAL. DoeLEGAL specializes in software for matter management, e-billing, and e-discovery, catering to corporate and law firm customers.
This strategic acquisition will expedite DiliTrust’s entry into the U.S. market and enhance its product offerings. Currently operating in more than 64 countries with offices in cities including Paris, Montreal, Toronto, Dubai, and Madrid, DiliTrust now adds an office in Wilmington, Delaware, expanding its workforce to more than 300 employees. Among its clientele are global giants like AccorHotels, Royal Bank of Canada, BNP Paribas, and many others.
The DiliTrust governance suite for legal departments comprises five modules, including a board meeting management portal, solutions for contract lifecycle management, entity management, litigation management, and a documentation library. DoeLEGAL, originally established in 1971 as Delaware Office Equipment, offers software for enterprise legal management, e-discovery, litigation support, and IP asset management. Its clients include prominent Fortune 500 companies in healthcare and insurance, such as GSK and Emerson Electric.
Yves Garagnon, global CEO of DiliTrust, stated that “in-house legal teams are facing increasing pressure to do more with less.” He emphasized that this acquisition would enable DiliTrust to offer a comprehensive platform that addresses these challenges by leveraging AI to enhance efficiency and cost savings, ultimately empowering the legal teams’ role within their organizations. Bruce Kuennen, president of doeLEGAL since 2021, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the synergy between the two companies in simplifying and streamlining legal operations.
This acquisition marks DiliTrust’s fourth in two years, following investments from financial sponsors Cathay Capital, Eurazeo, and Sagard in 2022. All employees from doeLEGAL will remain with DiliTrust, further solidifying the merger’s commitment to growth and innovation in the legal tech space.
