MyCase Enhances Legal Efficiency with New AI, Accounting, and Immigration Features

The legal practice management platform MyCase has announced several updates to its product line, incorporating new features and enhancements aimed at improving operational efficiency for legal professionals. Notably, the updates include MyCaseIQ, an AI conversational interface, enhancements to its accounting module, and an immigration add-on. Additionally, the company provided an update on the beta release of Smart Spend, a product that integrates a business credit card with expense tracking capabilities within MyCase.

The introduction of MyCaseIQ represents a move toward leveraging artificial intelligence to streamline legal workflows. This follows AffiniPay’s strategic initiative, known as AffiniPay IQ, to embed generative AI across its products. Previously released in beta, document summarization and text editing features are now fully integrated into the MyCase platform. Users can anticipate the launch of a conversational interface, enabling quick access to case-related information by posing questions in natural language.

In terms of accounting, MyCase has improved its native software to ease compliance and bookkeeping processes. These updates include 1099 vendor reporting and automatic deposit slip creation, both of which aim to simplify financial management for law firms. Particularly noteworthy is the automatic bank reconciliation feature that assists in ensuring compliance with IOLTA regulations by synergizing invoicing through MyCase, electronic payments via LawPay, and automatic reconciliation.

The company’s new immigration add-on marks an integration with Docketwise, a specialized platform for immigration lawyers. This integration allows immigration attorneys to benefit from comprehensive practice management capabilities alongside immigration-specific features without switching platforms. The add-on includes Smart Forms, USCIS case tracking, and e-filing options, available via subscription.

Furthermore, the Smart Spend feature is set to undergo beta testing. Designed as a combination of a business credit card and expense management tool, Smart Spend aligns client-related expenses directly with their corresponding matters within MyCase. The feature also includes a dashboard for monitoring expenses, aiming to streamline financial oversight.

This suite of updates signals MyCase’s commitment to integrating advanced technology into the legal sector. The company’s recent acquisition by Genstar Capital is expected to further support strategic investment in product development, enhancing MyCase’s market position and capabilities.
