Nominations Open for Alli Gerkman Legal Visionary Award, Honoring Emerging Leaders in Legal Reform

Nominations are now being accepted for the Alli Gerkman Legal Visionary Award, an initiative that honors individuals who have demonstrated substantial impacts early in their careers toward enhancing the American legal system. The award commemorates Alli Gerkman, a prominent figure who dedicated her career to legal reform and passed away in 2019 at the age of 41 due to breast cancer.

The Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System (IAALS) at the University of Denver, where Alli Gerkman served as a senior director, established this award to celebrate distinct perspectives and reformist efforts in legal practices. The IAALS seeks to recognize innovators, risk-takers, and emerging leaders who provide fresh perspectives and a reformist approach in improving the legal field. Eligible candidates must be in the early stages of their legal careers, within approximately the first 15 years.

Nominations, which can be submitted by others or through self-nomination, are open until November 1. Detailed guidelines and nomination procedures can be accessed here. For additional information, visit the LawNext announcement.
