The ABA TECHSHOW 2025 is poised to once again showcase innovation in legal technology with the return of its renowned Startup Alley and Pitch Competition. Now in its ninth year, the prestigious event is calling for applications from legal tech startups eager to present their cutting-edge solutions to an esteemed audience. Applications officially opened today, offering a unique platform for aspiring companies to gain visibility and recognition.
The Startup Alley, first introduced in 2017, has become a pivotal springboard for legal tech entrepreneurs, helping numerous startups achieve success in a competitive market. The upcoming TECHSHOW, slated for April 2-5, 2025, in Chicago, will host a live pitch competition as its opening event, where 15 selected startups will present their pitches to TECHSHOW attendees.
Startups can apply by completing the application form by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on December 13, 2024. A panel of five judges will evaluate the submissions, selecting 25 finalists, descriptions of whom will be published online for public voting beginning January 6, 2025. The 15 startups receiving the most votes will secure their place in Startup Alley. Winners will be announced on February 11, 2025.
Eligible startups must have been operational for less than five years and offer products or services specifically targeted at lawyers or legal professionals. They should demonstrate traction in terms of users, revenue, or financing. Entrants must not have previously been finalists at Startup Alley from 2017-2024, although semifinalists are encouraged to reapply.
At the conclusion of the live pitch event, attendees will vote for the most innovative company, which will earn additional prizes, including a free booth at the 2026 TECHSHOW. All participating startups benefit from discounted exhibition space and the opportunity to engage with a broad spectrum of legal professionals, journalists, and investors.
The judges for the event include key figures from the TECHSHOW planning board and Bob Ambrogi, the Startup Alley organizer. For those interested in applying, a detailed overview of the event and application process is available, along with contact information for inquiries.
