In a notable move within the legal sector, Barry Berke, a distinguished Manhattan litigator, along with a team of attorneys from Kramer Levin, has joined the prestigious firm, Gibson Dunn. Berke has been recognized for his role as lead counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives during the Senate impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump.
According to an internal communication viewed by Bloomberg Law, Berke officially starts at Gibson Dunn this Wednesday. He is joined by Kramer Levin’s attorneys Dani James, Jordan Estes, Darren Lavern, and Mike Martinez. Berke and James formerly co-chaired the white collar group at Kramer Levin.
Barry Berke recently gained attention for defending Bill Hwang, the founder of Archegos Capital Management, who was convicted on fraud charges related to the firm’s collapse in 2021. In their transition to Gibson Dunn, Berke and his team bring a wealth of experience in white collar litigation.
Kramer Levin and Gibson Dunn have not yet provided comments on this transition.
