In a notable addition to its white collar defense and investigations practice, Latham & Watkins has brought on board Margaret Graham as a partner in its New York office. Latham announced the move on Monday, highlighting Graham’s expertise in areas crucial to the firm’s practice.
Prior to joining Latham, Graham served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York. Her tenure there was marked by significant roles, including her position as deputy chief of the criminal division. Notably, she was also a co-chair of the office’s artificial intelligence working group, underscoring her engagement with contemporary legal challenges.
Graham’s career at the Department of Justice included leadership over several specialized units, such as the securities and commodities fraud task force, the illicit finance and money laundering unit, and the narcotics unit. Her capacity in supervising, investigating, and prosecuting cases related to securities and commodities fraud, along with her management of broader financial crimes, aligns her with the core litigation services that Latham provides to its clients.
This transition not only adds to Latham & Watkins’ deep bench of legal talent but also reflects the growing demand for white collar expertise as regulatory scrutiny and enforcement continue to intensify. Graham’s impressive track record in handling complex prosecutions will likely prove invaluable as she embarks on this new chapter with the firm.
