Settlement Reached in Mintz P.C. Lawsuit Over $4 Million in Unpaid Legal Fees

Mintz P.C. has reached a settlement with former clients Duncan Parking Technologies Inc. and its parent company, CivicSmart Inc., in a federal lawsuit over more than $4 million in unpaid legal fees and interest. The settlement concludes a legal action that began with Mintz suing these companies, claiming they had failed to pay for two years of legal services.

The case was presided over by Judge Denise Casper, who dismissed the lawsuit in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts following the parties’ settlement agreement. However, details of this agreement remain confidential as it was filed under seal. Those interested in the official case documentation can find it in the case titled Mintz v. CivicSmart Inc. (D. Mass., No. 1:24-cv-10999).

Mintz was represented internally by its members Michael Gardener and Brendan Lowd, while Honigman LLP represented the defendants. This settlement resolves the litigation, allowing both parties to avoid further legal proceedings.
