In a strategic move to bolster its presence on the East Coast, labor and employment law firm Ogletree Deakins has announced the acquisition of Baltimore-based boutique firm Shawe Rosenthal. This acquisition marks the establishment of Ogletree Deakins’ 58th office, further cementing its geographical footprint across the United States.
Founded in 1947, Shawe Rosenthal is a renowned employment law firm boasting a team of 16 skilled attorneys. These professionals are set to join the Ogletree Deakins family as part of the newly minted Baltimore office, which is scheduled to commence operations on January 2.
Ogletree’s managing shareholder, Liz Washko, expressed enthusiasm about the integration, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome the talented attorneys and business professionals from Shawe Rosenthal to the Ogletree Deakins family.” She also noted that this expansion will enhance the firm’s capacity to serve its client base in Maryland, an area recognized for its dynamic legal landscape, particularly in labor and employment law.
The acquisition signifies Ogletree Deakins’ continued commitment to strengthening its client relationships and service capabilities. It also reflects the wider trend of consolidation within the legal industry, as firms seek to expand their expertise and reach through strategic mergers and acquisitions.
