American Arbitration Association Launches AI-Driven Guide for Arbitration Excellence

The American Arbitration Association (AAA) has unveiled the first in a series of free AI-enabled handbooks titled “AAAi Chat Books.” This inaugural release is designed to assist users in navigating the nuances of arbitration by facilitating question-and-answer interactions through an AI chat interface. Leveraging content derived from the book Case Preparation and Presentation: A Guide for Arbitration Advocates and Arbitrators by authors Jay E. Grenig and Rocco M. Scanza, the AI tool offers a practical, interactive guide aimed at refining case preparation and presentation skills for AAA cases. More on this development can be found in the original article.

This initiative uses an AI chat system allowing users to ask questions on various arbitration-related topics and receive answers directly sourced from the book’s content, thus minimizing errors and ensuring accuracy. For example, when asked about best practices for preparing a witness to testify in an arbitration hearing, the chat book provided a detailed list of advisable strategies, substantiated by references to specific sections of the book.

The collaboration to develop this series involved EdTek, a company specializing in creating chatbot interfaces for document databases using their proprietary ChatBLDR tool. EdTek was established by Steve Emanuel, known for his contributions to legal education through “Emanuel Law Outlines.” The AAA’s Chief Development Officer, Steve Errick, highlighted that these chat books are intended to support new advocates at the AAA, law students studying alternative dispute resolution, and those who are self-representing in legal forums.

Errick emphasized the initiative’s alignment with the AAA’s mission to simplify the claims process. “By offering this resource at no cost, we ensure all parties have access to invaluable expert insights and practical guidance for handling AAA cases,” he noted. The AAAi chat book series, developed jointly with EdTek, is expected to play a crucial role in equipping individuals and legal advocates with advanced AI learning tools.

Interested users can experience the AAAi Chat Book by signing up with an email address, granting them access to this innovative learning tool. This offering is part of a broader effort by the AAA to democratize access to arbitration resources and enhance the knowledge base for all involved parties.
