Litera Expands Legal Tech Portfolio with Acquisition of Peppermint Technology

Litera has announced its acquisition of Peppermint Technology, a UK-based provider of modular, cloud-based solutions for law firms. This move marks another significant step in Litera’s strategy to bolster its offerings in legal technology following its recent acquisition of Office & Dragons.

Peppermint Technology offers the CX365 platform, an integrated suite built on Microsoft technology that includes tools for CRM, ERM, matter management, case management, and document management. The platform’s tight integration with Microsoft 365 enhances its appeal to large law firms, which rely on seamless workflows across their operations.

According to Litera, the acquisition will enhance the value law firms can extract from Microsoft applications by integrating Peppermint’s solutions with Litera’s existing suite of capabilities designed for managing the legal process from start to finish. Avaneesh Marwaha, CEO of Litera, stated that this combined offering aims to improve client engagement and operational efficiency by utilizing the Microsoft tools law firms already use daily. This acquisition aligns with Litera’s mission to transform the entire legal experience.

Peppermint’s CEO, Gary Young, expressed enthusiasm about joining forces with Litera, citing shared visions and culture as key factors. The collaboration is anticipated to produce significant benefits for both companies’ customers and the broader legal technology sector.
