Independent Counsel Appointed in Eric Adams Case to Ensure Thorough Review of Dismissal Request

In the ongoing legal proceedings involving Eric Adams, a new development has emerged as U.S. District Judge Dale Ho of the Southern District of New York decided to bring in Paul Clement, a seasoned appellate lawyer formerly serving as U.S. Solicitor General. Clement, currently with the firm Clement & Murphy, will provide an independent perspective and “adversarial testing” to the joint request made by both the Department of Justice and attorneys representing Adams to dismiss the case. This move is seen as an effort to ensure a thorough review of the dismissal request. More details on this case can be found in the New York Law Journal.
