“New York Law Journal Opens 2025 Legal Awards Nominations, Introduces New Categories”

The New York Law Journal is currently seeking nominations to celebrate outstanding members of New York’s legal community for the upcoming New York Legal Awards 2025. This annual recognition aims to honor the achievements of lawyers, firms, and litigation departments that have notably influenced and inspired the legal landscape in the state.

The 2025 edition introduces three new categories: the most promising newcomers, top mentors, and significant real estate transactions. Candidates are encouraged to be nominated with a maximum of three attorneys per category from a single firm. The nomination window encapsulates activities occurring between January 1, 2024, and May 1, 2025. Submissions for potential nominees will close on May 16, 2025.

A special event to honor the winners is scheduled for September in Manhattan, where their contributions will be recognized on stage. A comprehensive judging approach evaluates several factors such as the impact of the work, innovative approaches, diversity, and pro bono contributions. Notably, the New York Law Journal emphasizes the importance of diversity and encourages law firms to highlight their diverse legal talents during the nomination process.
