Manhattan Prosecutors Continue Pursuit of We Build the Wall Indictment Despite Organizational Changes

Charges against the nonprofit organization We Build the Wall have not been dismissed, as Manhattan prosecutors continue their pursuit of the indictment for money laundering and other offenses. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office announced its decision during a recent hearing presided over by Acting Manhattan Supreme Court Justice April Newbauer. Despite We Build the Wall no longer having any human officers, the prosecution will advance if any individuals do appear. A status conference has been scheduled for March 4, 2026, in response to a request by Assistant District Attorney Jeffrey Levinson.

This decision follows the recent plea by Steve Bannon, former adviser to Donald Trump, in a related case. For further details, refer to the New York Law Journal’s coverage.
