Farmers New World Life Insurance Co. is facing a class action lawsuit alleging that the company overcharged policyholders for life insurance and improperly lapsed policies. The complaint was filed in the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County by Evelyn Navarro and the estate of Virginia Meza. Navarro is a beneficiary under Meza’s life insurance policy.
The lawsuit contends that Farmers Insurance’s conduct was “despicable” and carried out with malicious intent and a conscious disregard for the rights of the plaintiffs and class members. As a result, the plaintiffs claim they have been subjected to unjust hardship and distress.
The lawsuit is spearheaded by attorneys Joshua H. Haffner, Trevor Weinberg, and Josh N. Sipp from Haffner Law. As of now, there has been no response from the legal representatives of the plaintiffs regarding requests for comments.
