Ford Faces Class-Action Lawsuit Over Alleged Defects in Bronco Sport and Maverick Batteries

Ford Legal Challenges Continue Over Battery Defects

Ford Motor Co. is once again under legal scrutiny due to a new
class-action lawsuit stemming from ongoing problems associated with their
12-volt batteries. This recent litigation claims that the automaker’s
allegedly defective batteries have both harmed and depreciated their
vehicles, escalating to a recall earlier this year. In January 2025, Ford
recalled over 273,000 of its Bronco Sport and Maverick models due to the
risk of power loss while in operation.

According to
Law.com Radar, which tracks new litigation in real time across thousands of courts,
this latest suit accuses Ford of fraudulent and deceptive advertising
practices in multiple legal jurisdictions, including Pennsylvania and
Illinois.
