Law Insider Introduces Affordable AI-Powered Contract Tools for 1.2 Million Legal Professionals

In a move designed to democratize access to sophisticated legal technology, Law Insider has announced the launch of its AI-powered contract drafting, review, and redlining tools. These features are set to become accessible to a vast global community consisting of 1.2 million registered legal users. The integration of the new AI suite directly into Microsoft Word and Law Insider’s own web-based platform represents a significant aspect of this rollout, permitting seamless accessibility across diverse workspaces frequently inhabited by attorneys and legal professionals.

Commencing in April, the deployment of these advanced tools is planned for Law Insider’s over 10,000 Pro and Premium subscribers. In addition, a free version of these tools will soon be available to the extensive community of 1.2 million registered users. The pricing structure, which starts at $29 per month for individual users and $49 per month for teams, positions Law Insider as one of the more affordable AI-driven legal solutions amidst an evolving marketplace.

Preston Clark, co-founder of Law Insider and CEO of SimpleDocs, noted, “Hundreds of legal tech vendors are chasing AI-driven contract automation, but most are focused on expensive solutions for the Fortune 500.” Clark emphasized the company’s commitment to making AI-powered contracting accessible to a broader pool of professionals, including solo practitioners, small law firms, and in-house counsel, who traditionally might not have the resources allocated to access such technology.

The AI contract suite was developed alongside SimpleDocs, a firm renowned for its work in AI-powered contract automation. Designed to extend enterprise-capable functionalities to smaller entities, the tools feature capabilities such as contract review and redlining, the Law Insider Index Score for benchmarking contract clauses, AI-assisted clause drafting backed by Law Insider’s expansive contract database, and customizable AI playbooks for comprehensive contract reviews.

Electra Japonas, the Chief Legal Officer at Law Insider, expressed a forward-looking vision, stating that the tools are not merely devices but instruments designed to empower legal professionals worldwide to handle contracts with greater efficacy. “AI should be accessible to every attorney, not just those in large firms with enterprise budgets,” said Japonas.

An early access program is currently underway, available to selected members of the Law Insider community, strategically scheduled ahead of a global launch on April 8, 2025. Full access will be available to all Pro and Premium subscribers within their current subscription framework.
