New General Counsels at Fortune 500 Companies Prioritize Swift Action, Study Finds

Newly appointed general counsels at Fortune 500 companies are moving swiftly to implement changes, according to a recent study by Russell Reynolds Associates. The study highlights how companies are exercising more caution in the hiring process, but once in their roles, these legal chiefs often feel compelled to act promptly. This urgency for change is reflected in their average response on a scale of one to 10 when asked about the extent of modifications made within the first 12 to 18 months; the most common response was seven. This data suggests a strong inclination among newly hired GCs to leave a significant impact right from the start.
