In a strategic move to enhance its capabilities in maritime finance, Holland & Knight has welcomed a prominent team of legal professionals led by Mike Timpone. Alongside Timpone, Kurt Plankl and Sophia Agathis have joined the firm as partners within its asset finance group in New York. Timpone is set to take on a significant leadership role as co-chair of the firm’s maritime industry team. This appointment signals the firm’s commitment to strengthening its position in the maritime finance sector.

The team is poised to serve both U.S. and international lenders and borrowers, providing expert guidance on secured loans and diverse financing transactions. In addition to the new partners, Nicholas Kaasik has joined as senior counsel, bringing further expertise and leadership to the group.
