Germany’s Federal Court of Justice Expands with 11 New Appointments, Boosting Female Representation

Germany’s Justice Ministry has expanded its appointment plans for the Federal Court of Justice (FCJ), also known as the Bundesgerichtshof. Initially intending to appoint seven members, the Ministry has now added four more, making a total of 11 newly appointed lawyers.

Among these appointments are three counsel from international law firms. Notably, Maximilian Menn from Freshfields has been appointed, marking his distinction as the youngest-ever male lawyer to join the FCJ. The appointment also sees an increase in female representation on the court. Joining Menn are Julia Nobbe from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan and Ines Bodenstein from Gleiss Lutz.
