Diageo Announces Strategic Changes in Legal Leadership: Randall Ingber Returns as General Counsel

Diageo PLC, the well-established multinational beverage company renowned for iconic brands such as Baileys, Guinness, and Johnnie Walker, has announced a significant shift in its legal leadership team. A familiar face at the company, Randall Ingber, has been reappointed as general counsel and company secretary. This decision marks Ingber’s return to Diageo after more than a year at Lion Group, a subsidiary of Japanese conglomerate Kirin Holdings Co. Ltd., where he served as general counsel.

This alignment coincides with the departure of Diageo’s current general counsel, Tom Shropshire, who will be moving to Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. in a similar capacity. Shropshire has led Diageo’s legal department since 2021, after holding a key leadership position at the US practice of Linklaters, a prestigious international law firm.

Diageo, headquartered in London, continues to strengthen its executive team by bringing back seasoned professionals like Ingber to ensure consistent and effective legal guidance. The company announced Ingber’s return and Shropshire’s upcoming transition through LinkedIn updates. These changes are part of Diageo’s ongoing strategy to align legal expertise with its broader corporate goals.
