Agiloft Integrates AI-Powered Screens into Contract Management Platform to Enhance Data Extraction and Vendor Oversight

Agiloft has finalized the integration of Screens, its newly acquired AI-powered contract review and no-code playbook technology, into its contract lifecycle management platform. This integration, completed just three months after the acquisition, showcases Agiloft’s commitment to its “AI on the Inside” strategy, which aims to embed expert-developed AI across every contract lifecycle stage.

Otto Hanson, the founder of Screens and now vice president and general manager at Agiloft, articulated the integration’s objective: enabling businesses to seamlessly extract vital data from contracts. He emphasized that their approach to AI, described as “white box AI,” contrasts with the more opaque “black box AI” approaches, as it is driven by expert knowledge rather than relying solely on AI models. Hanson stated in a recent interview that this model significantly enhances both Agiloft and Screens’ value propositions.

Screens was initially launched by TermScout as a marketplace for lawyers to create and market their own contract review AIs based on personal expertise. However, the model transitioned to a subscription service following customer feedback favoring simplicity, which aligned well with Agiloft’s inclusion strategy. Following the acquisition, Screens is now provided to all Agiloft customers as part of their standard package, ensuring a broader reach and easier adoption.

Incorporating Screens into Agiloft’s platform allows for more robust vendor management by mapping vendor contracts against company standards, thus exposing discrepancies and informing strategic decisions on vendor relationships and contract renewals. Hanson illustrated this with a hypothetical dashboard that employed Screens to identify problematic contract provisions efficiently.

Hanson is optimistic about the future collaboration between Agiloft and its partners in enhancing industry standardization and community-driven expertise sharing. The integration reflects a commitment to improving the user experience by making AI adoption seamless across business processes. Future plans include a user-friendly integration of Screens directly within Agiloft, allowing users to operate Screens tools with a single click and have data automatically recorded in their dashboards. This evolution is part of a broader agenda that involves significant investments in AI research and development, particularly focusing on agentic AI to enhance both product capability and customer experience.
