Laura Cannon has joined Hinshaw & Culbertson as a partner in its appellate team, part of its government practice group based in New Orleans. The firm officially announced her appointment on Wednesday.
Cannon’s role at Hinshaw involves handling appellate cases, particularly focusing on commercial litigation, insurance matters, and consumer financial services. Alongside her litigation focus, she will also provide counsel on white-collar crime compliance and represent public entities in constitutional cases.
Before her move to Hinshaw, Cannon was associated with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit serving as a criminal justice act attorney. The expertise and experience she garnered in this position are expected to be invaluable in her new role as she transitions to the private sector.
