While the White House praised its own 100-day accomplishments, including a stated reduction in border apprehensions, Amnesty highlights the severe human costs behind these statistics. Reportedly, the administration has not prioritized deportations based on public safety threats, instead targeting all undocumented individuals indiscriminately. This has resulted in harrowing scenarios where pregnant women are shackled and families are permanently separated.
Despite claims from the administration that security has improved, reports have identified wrongful detentions, including the arrest of U.S. citizens based on racial profiling.
