“The Association of American Law Schools Celebrates 125 Years of Upholding Legal Education and the Rule of Law”

The Association of American Law Schools (AALS) has published an illustrated history titled “The First 125 Years,” which explores the organization’s significant role in underscoring the importance of the rule of law. Founded in 1900 in Saratoga Springs, New York, the AALS initiated a tradition of annual meetings that persists to this day. Co-authored by Judy Areen and Jean Waterman, the book highlights the association’s longstanding commitment to legal education and collaboration. As stated by Areen in an interview with Law.com, their primary goal has been to aid members of the legal academia in achieving excellence without governmental intervention, a mission that continues to guide them 125 years on.
