Goodwin Procter Enlists Proskauer Veteran Amid Federal Diversity Hiring Inquiries

Goodwin Procter has hired a partner from Proskauer Rose LLP, Allan Bloom, to lead its response to inquiries from federal and state authorities regarding its diversity hiring initiatives. These investigations are being conducted by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and a contingent of a dozen state attorneys general.

According to information obtained through a public records request, Bloom, who co-chairs Proskauer’s labor and employment group, sent an April 15 letter in response to these inquiries. This correspondence was disclosed by the office of South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. However, Bloom’s full response to the EEOC remains confidential, as he requested that portions of the communication not be made public.

The significance of these queries aligns with heightened governmental scrutiny over workplace diversity and inclusion efforts. You can read more about the matter on Bloomberg Law’s coverage.
