U.S. Law Firm Leasing Doubles in Early 2025 as Renewals Drive Growth

Law firm leasing activity in the United States surged during the first quarter of 2025, doubling the volume observed in the same period the previous year. According to Savills’ The Legal Tenant’s U.S. Law Firm Activity Report, more than two-thirds of the leases executed were renewals. This marked a notable departure from past trends where relocations were more prevalent. The report highlights that law firm leasing spanned 3.4 million square feet, a significant increase from the 1.7 million square feet during the first quarter of 2024. This growth, while slightly less than the 3.8 million square feet recorded in the last quarter of 2024, still reflects a robust start to the year, indicating strong continued momentum in the legal sector.
